Café Supervisor

Job Description

Post Title:                    Café Supervisor (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Renumeration:            £12 per hour (including A/L allocation)

Reports to:                  Café Manager (Club Manager in the absence of Café Manager)

Staff responsible for:   Oversee work of Casual Café Assistants

Location:                     JAGS Sports Club

Hours:                          16 hours minimum plus includes weekends.

 

 

Purpose of Job

 

The Copper Beech Café Supervisor is a new role working a minimum 16 hours per week post. The hours will usually be on a Monday and a Friday and on occasion weekends.

 

The scope of the post will to have all the principle responsibilities below but also to carry out vital tasks to keep the café running. Such as hygiene checks, ordering of weekly supplies and produce, prepping food and training the café assistants on light catering duties. The role will lead onto and be responsible for more substantial duties such as menu creation, rota organisation and staff recruitment.

 

Principle Responsibilities

 Under the guidance and overall control of the Club Manager to:

 

  • Ensuring every Monday morning that all necessary orders have been completed for the week ahead.
  • To ensure all hygiene checks (fridge checks, daily and weekly cleaning check sheets are complete, all hygiene standards are being met and contributing to the club achieving 5 star rating).
  • Lead in the creation and development of new food ideas and café refreshments, keeping up to date with current trends and concepts.
  • Ensure effective management and costing to help market and upsell items to maximise profits.
  • Ensure the Café is opened on time and the facility is clean, presentable and safe and the ensuring that the Café is closed in line with procedures and security.
  • Managing and operating the till, ensuring balancing daily and banking the café takings daily in line with JCE procedures and processes.
  • Accurately maintain and update time sheets daily
  • Assisting with ordering supplies and ensuring that the Café receives high quality produce (locally where possible) and sourcing and changing vendors where needed.
  • Checking that orders have been correctly delivered and charged for
  • Providing excellent and high standard of customers service across the team and ensuring that café assistants are appropriately trained.
  • Ensuring the areas are kept clean such as the kitchen, café area and external café area in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations and Guidance and café housekeeping standards. Includes cleaning and washing up.
  • Keeping accurate and up to date cleaning and temperature records
  • Undertaking the preparation of the food and beverages served in the café in line with food safety requirements.
  • Ensuring that the café environment is pleasant, courteous, and welcoming for all members and staff and in line with the vision agreed with the Senior Managers of the Sports Club.
