Just Eat It: Whole plaice with cucumber, fennel & chervil

This sunny springtime number, from Franklins in East Dulwich, will have your mouth watering!

Ingredients:

  • 1 x whole plaice per person
  • 1 x cucumber
  • 1 x fennel bulb
  • 1 x bunch of chervil
  • 1 x lemon
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper

Method:

  1. Thinly slice the fennel and cucumber
  2. Mix the cucumber & fennel in a bowl
  3. Squeeze the juice of a lemon over the salad and season with salt and pepper
  4. Get your frying pan nice and hot, pour in some olive oil.  Add the plaice cook for about four minutes a side
  5. Salt the plaice
  6. Add a healthy amount of olive oil to the salad
  7. Add chopped chervil to the salad
  8. Plate the plaice and the salad, and have yourself a nice glass of bone dry white
